University Requirements to join a Fraternity or Sorority
To join a fraternity or sorority at Southeast, you must meet each of the following criteria:
- Be a duly enrolled student in good standing at Southeast Missouri State University.
- Student in good standing is defined as a fee-paying person who is enrolled in at least six semester hours, not on disciplinary or academic probation, and maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.000.
- Be currently enrolled at full-time level.
- Minimum of 12 credit hours.
- Meet or exceed the minimum grade point average of 2.500*.
- High school GPA will be used if fewer than 12 college credit hours have been completed.
*All individual chapters retain the right to require a higher minimum G.P.A. standard for membership, in accordance with their national and local constitution and by-laws.
According to University policy, anyone wishing to join a fraternity or sorority must have their GPA verified by the office of Campus Life.
Once verified, your GPA information will be available for chapters to see before they offer you a bid.
